Hi, I’m Jen! I’ve struggled much of my life with weight. I tried many different diets, medications, programs, and exercises. Over time, I failed, for numerous reasons from giving up to not seeing results, or lack of motivation over time. One thing that remained constant was my will to want to be healthy but I just couldn’t get to that point. I was always tired, had high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and pre-diabetic. After years of trying, I decided to take control of my health for not only myself but for my children. I underwent weight loss surgery in 2022, focused on putting myself as a priority, and started light exercise. Getting my mindset right was key. To elevate my success, I searched for a personal trainer. This led me to Carrie at EveryBODY Fitness. After working with her for a short time she encouraged me to try her POUND class, which is now a favorite of mine! This led to taking other group fitness classes and my passion for exercise developed. A supportive, accountable, inclusive, and motivating community is what made me keep going until it became part of who I am. As a result, my health is now under control; my blood pressure is normal, I no longer am diagnosed with sleep apnea, my blood sugar is within normal range, I gained confidence, gained friendships, and became mentally and physically stronger. For the first time in my life my blood lab results are normal and I no longer take any routine medications. THIS is what a successful health journey looks like to me; it’s more than the scale or measurements alone.
I work full time as a nurse and have a Masters of Business. I like to joke that I love learning so much that I will always be a student. Here I am again, back to learning, as I am working toward a personal trainer certification through ACE. I’m excited to be able to help others find their path to a healthy lifestyle.
Outside of work and the gym, I can be found with my family, reading, bowling, or shopping. I’ve been married to my husband Jeff for 2 years and have two children; Gabby (20) and Wyatt (9).
